Just got back from my regular evening ride. Thought I had died and gone to heaven tonite. Today my ProTac backrest arrived. The installation was simple and straightforward. Remove one bolt on either side of the rear fender brace and replace it with the longer bolt provided installing the backrest brace which is a welded black metal part designed to hold the backrest support. Everything fit perfectly. The backrest support shaft installs into the brace making for easy removal if and when you should want. But-- the fun really begins here -- my bike is now like sitting on my riding lawn mower for want of a better explaination. Pure comfort. Sit down stretch out lean back and let the wind pass right on by.The appearance of the backrest pad is quite similar in style to the rear passenger backrest only slightly larger. The frame is of solid 1/2" chrome round stock rather than the hollow chrome square tubing of the passenger rest but still not obtrusive. All in all it's one of the best things so far as comfort goes that I have done to my bike. Is it worth the 115.00 which included shipping and handling - you bet! I was passing Harley riders tonite smiling inside my helmet thinking that if they only knew how comfortable I was. As the ad says - priceless! I now can hardly wait till next weeks' wednesday lunch ride, a trip of nearly 200 miles.
